Skeetchestn Dodeca-Homes has been successful as a final funding recipient for CMHC’s Round 4 Building for the Future Challenge. This housing supply solution is for Indigenous by Indigenous and allows First Nation communities to take their housing needs into their own hands.
Our 12-sided round kit structure is based on the traditional winter dwelling of the Secwepemc First Nation and can be built to lock-up within 20 days.
We are set to train 6 crews this year, 5 of which are Indigenous Entrepreneurs or Band Housing crews. We will be testing several foundation and wall systems to find energy efficient options for our building kit. Learn more about our project and the other successful recipients here:
